Stilla is a meditation, breathing, and sleep-sounds app designed to work entirely on your device. This policy explains the little data it touches, why, and how you stay in control.

The short version

No account is required. All sounds, lessons, and timers work offline.
Your practice data (sessions, streak, mixes, lesson progress, settings) is stored on your device.
If you optionally sign in with Google, that practice data is also backed up to your account so a new phone can restore it.
Stilla shows a small number of non-personalized ads via Google AdMob.
We run no analytics, no tracking pixels, and we never sell data.

Data stored on your device

Your practice history, streak, custom sound mixes, lesson progress, and app settings live in local storage on your phone. They never leave your device unless you sign in (below). You can erase them at any time by clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app, and you can export or import them as a file from Settings while signed out.

Optional Google sign-in and cloud backup

Signing in is optional and only exists to back up your practice data. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive and store:

Your Google account's basic profile: name, email address, and user id (via Firebase Authentication).
Your practice data: session history, streak state, custom mixes, lesson progress, and settings (in Google Cloud Firestore, tied to your account and readable only by you under our security rules).

This data is used for nothing except showing your own progress back to you and restoring it on a new device. It is retained until you delete it. You can delete your Stilla account and its entire cloud backup at any time from Settings → Delete account inside the app, or see our account & data deletion page.

Advertising

Stilla shows a small number of ads through Google AdMob: a banner on the app's four main tabs, at most one full-screen ad per day, and an optional rewarded ad you can choose to watch. Ads never appear inside meditation, breathing, or sleep sessions.

We request non-personalized ads only. Ads are contextual, not based on a profile of you.
To serve and measure ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID, IP address, and coarse device information. See how Google uses data from partners.
In regions that require it (e.g. the EEA/UK), a consent message is shown before any ad loads, and you can decline — ad slots simply stay empty.
Watching the optional rewarded ad turns all ads off for 24 hours.

What we do NOT collect

No analytics or usage tracking SDKs.
No location, contacts, microphone, camera, or health data.
No selling or renting of any data, ever.

Data sharing

We share data only with the processors named above — Google Firebase (authentication and backup storage) and Google AdMob (ad serving) — strictly to provide those functions. All transfers are encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

Data retention and deletion

Local data: yours alone; removed by clearing app storage or uninstalling.
Cloud backup: kept until you delete it. In-app deletion (Settings → Delete account) permanently removes your Firestore data and your Firebase Authentication record, typically immediately and at most within 30 days from backups.

Children

Stilla is not directed at children under 13. Ads are restricted to a family-safe content rating, and we knowingly collect no personal information from children.

Security

Cloud data is protected by Firebase security rules that restrict every record to the signed-in account that owns it, and all communication is encrypted in transit.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
